Mom’s Birthday
This is the first project I made after my gallbladder surgery. I
was so ready to dig into something creative. My brother,
James, took these photos at my mom’s birthday party at the end
of March. Though we weren’t able to join them, we could share
in the festivities through the photos. I scrapped a little album
for my mom of the day spent with my nieces and nephew. This
project uses very little embellishment, makes use of doodling to
frame the photos, and is economical for gift-gifting.

Zutter Innovative – 1” white o-ring
My Mind’s Eye – patterned paper collection, die cuts
Bazzill Basics - chipboard
Stampin’ Up! – ribbon, rub-ons
Adirondack – acrylic paint

This is a retirement book I made for well-wishers to write their
sentiments for my co-worker, Diane. I prefer substantial bound
board books to the flimsy little greeting cards people usually buy
for retirements! There is plenty of open space for writing and
adding of pictures or other small keepsakes.
I cut 12”x12” chipboard into varying lengths starting at 7” to
12” increasing each board by 1 inch, 9” widths. Each was
painted and covered in border punched, inked, patterned paper.
Small rub-on embellishments were added to each set of inside
pages.

for my husband’s cousins families. There was a family reunion that
we missed earlier this month but thankfully pictures were taken and
shared. The chipboard pieces are 5”x7” but can be easily adjusted to
any size you need your project to be.
