Christmas Recipe Book
Every year at Christmas time I am rushing around
trying to find where I stashed Grandma’s secret
fudge recipe. Now that I have found everything
over Christmas I was determined to keep it all in
one spot. I created this Christmas Recipe Book to do
just that—keep my secret recipes in one place.

For the cover of the book, I used a white Coverall. I
painted the entire book with green paint and then I
cut 8x8 pages to cover the panels of the Cover-All. I
cut 8s8 pages from patterned paper and backed
them with cardstock to make them sturdy but not
too heavy. In between these main pages I inserted
recipes cards than I had punched binding holes in.
The 8x8 pages will tell the stories of the recipes
store in between them. The inside front cover
serves as a Table of Contents for the book.

“Love” Mini Book
Everyone is always asking me to see photos of my
family and I never have anything nice in my purse
to show them. This last summer we got professional
photos taken and these are photos I am proud to
show off! I created this mini brag book for my purse
to showcase these photos.

I cut 4x5 pages for the inside of the book from thin
chipboard. I didn’t want the book to be too heavy but
it needed to be sturdy to hang out in my purse. I
completely covered some pages with photos. On
other pages I added cardstock and patterned paper to
create a simple design. In the middle of the book
between photos of my kids I added a mini page to
feature some journaling. I love to change up the
pages in the middle of a book for a fun surprise.

I sandwiched a length of ribbon between a piece of
paper and a piece of chipboard on each cover to
make a tie for the book. I punched and bound the
book with the Bind It All. Since this project is 4”x5”
it was really easy to punch the holes quickly. Set the
machine to the “C” setting and then slide your page
against the tab on the guide. Then punch away! I
added a few embellies and journaling strips after
binding the book. This project can be complete in less
than 45 minutes, perfect for a gift for your honey!
And don’t forget Mother’s Day will be here before
you know it as well.
Easy Recipe Card Book
I created this simple recipe book as a gift for my sister who is
newly married. She clips and photocopies recipes from
magazines so I wanted to give her a book she can write in and
glue her clippings into as well.

I used store bought, pre-printed recipe cards as the inner
pages and simply bound them together with the Bind It All. I
cut chipboard for the covers, about ¼” wider on each side
than the recipe cards and rounded the bottom two corners of
each cover with the Round It All.

Add this mini book to a basket of cooking supplies for a
wonderful bridal shower or housewarming gift. Or fill it with
a few of your favorite recipes to start off a relative’s recipe
collection. Binding projects don’t have to take a long time—
this book took about 10 minutes to assemble.

Journaling Spots Notebook
I love those cute little notebooks filled with journaling spots available
from several companies nowadays. Most of them are spiral or wire
bound so I got to thinking … “I could make my own”!

I cut some scrap cardstock in white, cream, and kraft colors to 3.5” x
3”. Then I stamped journaling stamps on them, some going off the
pages, some in the middle so I could cut the whole image out if I
wanted to, and other covering the entire page so I could tear the page
out to get the “notebook paper” look. I bound all of the pages together
to make my own mini journaling spot notebook.  I then added a
perfect closure, colored with Jet Black Staz-On, to keep the book from
flopping open while in my crop bag.

Now I can throw my custom journaling notebook in my tool bag
when I go to crops, saving space I would have used to carry stamps or
multiple purchased journaling spots. Since the spots I made are all
neutral colors, I can just dab a little ink on the edges to color the
journal spot to match any project. When I run out of journaling spots,
I’ll remove the O-wires, add new spots, and then reattach the covers.
