  • Colorbox Chalk Inkpad – Dark Brown
  • 1” black o’wires

This is a great little mini book for all those fun Halloween photos of the
kids in their costumes.  I cut the chipboard to size for the covers and
used cardstock for the pages, it would be quicker to use ready- made
covers and pages as all you need to do is add the papers and embellies.
I downloaded the templates for the ghost on the front cover and the
witches hat, cauldron, bat etc.  I then cut the shapes from chipboard
and covered them and added details with pebeo cerne relief in copper
and black .  Used my BIA to punch the completed pages and bound
with 1” o’wires.

This is an all chipboard book, I drew or traced the various shapes onto chipboard and cut them out, then papered them and

Very simply, after decorating the chipboard covers, punch them along the top edge.  Cut enough squares from the cardstock to
make up the numbers for your date.  You need a blank and 1 & 2 for the first set and 0 – 9 for the second set.  I found the easiest
way to get the BIA holes in these was to punch holes along the length of your cardstock and then using your 2” square punch,
punch the squares keeping 3 holes centred for each square.  Add your numbers to the squares and then you are ready to bind the
project.  Add the Christmas tree afterwards because it is raised on 3D foam.
I made the Christmas tree from chipboard, covered with paper and then clear embossed the entire thing, added the border
embossing in Enchanted Gold to the edges and then applied the Hot Fix 3mm pearls with my Bejeweller.
I hope you enjoy making them!
I have wanted to do this book for so long... I love all the stuff we end up saying to our kids – even after swearing all our teenage
years that we would ‘never be like my  mother’!!   I think these types of mini books say just as much as a photo album and love to
use words that will prompt memories  just as much as a photograph.
As it is for my son, I kept the colours reasonably masculine and ensured there weren’t too many flowery bits, just a few buttons
and ribbon to trim – luckily he always loves the books I make him!!
I tried something new for the title letters and painted the chipboard letters with pebeo relief paint in copper, whilst still wet,
added clear embossing powder and let them dry.  Once dry I heat embossed them and it gave a pretty cool bubbly raised effect
which goes with the book quite nicely!
