Teacher's Gifts
By Sara Foreman
I needed to come up with several (12) gifts for teachers, assistants, and
secretaries. Since I don't have much money I decided that I would use what
I had so you could say that I went shopping in my craft room. These were
very simple. To make them I took a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock. I scored the
sheet at 6", turned the paper then scored at 4". I cut the paper on the 4"
score. This gave me the bottom of my page and folding the other piece at
the 6" score created the pages.
I then scored the bottom section at 1/2 " and folded this up. This sheet that
formed the bottom of the page also created a pocket. For the front and back
covers I didn't cut the bottom piece I just folded it opposite of the inside
pages.Since each page was one color I needed to set off the pocket so they
would know what it was. I adhered ribbon on the top of each pocket. After
gluing everything together I was ready to punch. I could not believe how
fast it went.
On the front of each book I put something about a child.
They're not professional nor as good as the many things that I see
submitted but I was able to make all these gifts with my BIA and what I
had in my stash. I never could have made such gifts otherwise.
